Number Four, often times referred to as #4,
has plagued the MPT sound since the 1996 release of 'The Sound of No
Hands Clapping'. During this goitrogenic recording, Number Four
demonstrates his obfuscating talents on drums, bass, and guitar.
His greatest accomplishment to date comes when he simultaneously
plays bass and drums on the hit 'I'll Win Your Heart'. His favorite
song is the Latino beat and MPT theme song 'We are Smart'. Here #4
proves that he can play TWO guitar chords in ONE song. In an upcoming
MPT release, #4 shares a duet with lead singer and lyricist Mark
Maynard as they raise a glass to the mutant amphibian, the Arctic
Smeet.
A love for music and a panache for catchy musical riffs has made Number 4 the
placenta of the band, supplying high-life energy and vital nutrients to the
fetal sounds of the MPT. Together with derelict lead guitarist Deadhand Dan,
the caustic and edgy stringed instrument magic unveiled during MPT recordings
is akin to having your nutsack impaled by a Pampean blowdart while trying to
piss out a razor edged kidney stone the size of an over ripe Steven Hawking
colostomy bag.
#4 is the Middle finger on the Hand of the Monkey. He is the biggest and
tallest of all metacarpals, residing like a giant among children, but
acting like a giant child at times. He stands up, sometimes solitary,
and voices his opinion vehemently. He is very protective of the band,
always on the look out for people out to screw them over. He trusts few,
and despises most. His cruel city upbringing hardened Middle making him
unreachable to some, unfriendly to others. He can and will berate
others for their shortcomings. But overall, his love for his band mates,
respect for MPT fans, and his belief that the MPT is on a lifelong jaunt
to clasp the world in its furry hands and lovingly spread the monkey around
the globe, makes Middle a gentle enigma and vital part of the Monkey Power
Trio and its underground mission.
